The Department of Defense’s (DoD’s) Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology, and Logistics oversees a $1.7 trillion portfolio. To better manage this immense portfolio, the DoD has developed the Defense Acquisition Visibility Environment, or DAVE.
DAVE is an ACT-1 program and Infinity is part of an integrated team helping develop this API-driven and analytics-fueled acquisition reporting system that oversees more than 140 major defense acquisition programs and major automated information systems programs. The Infinity team is supporting this effort with full-stack developers and senior requirement analysts who are transitioning several legacy investment and project management applications into Java-based web services.
Our team members also leverage the JIRA enterprise management tool to define the stories, epics, sprints, levels of effort, resource assignments, risks, mitigations, and timelines associated with the identification, refinement, aggregation, and repurposing of acquisition/capital management data. This includes capital and milestone decision points for projects like the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter and more than 400 other Air Force investments and 600 major Army investments. DAVE streamlines acquisition management and oversight by leveraging web services, authoritative data sources, data collection, and data repository capabilities. Our efforts with DAVE are helping provide the DoD with the data, cost, quality, and risk transparency needed to make informed and qualified decisions.
